Engineering/ Asset Evaluation Committee

The Engineering/Asset Evaluation committee is responsible to:

· Identify all the physical assets that the GHCA either owns or has the responsibility to maintain and what permit obligations the GHCA has to operate and maintain our assets.

· Work with outside engineering companies to evaluate the current condition of the assets under GHCA’s responsibility and estimate the remaining useful life of those assets and the current cost of repairing or replacing them.

· Identify those assets that are in disrepair or are at/beyond the end of their economic useful life and estimate the cost of remediation/ replacement.

· Work with other committees to legal uncover and resolve issues, to have the proper maintenance and capital budgeting processes in place, and to have reasonable reserves set aside.

To accomplish these tasks, the committee will need to work closely with the Legal committee to determine ownership of all the property within GH and OH, all the permits the GHCA have been given, and agreements that have been made with the Marina, Oak Harbor, the GH G&B Club, and any other third parties.  They will also need to coordinate with the Operations committee to identify all agreements to maintain the GH/OH property and ensure that there is a plan in place upon takeover for new property management’s proper maintenance of our assets. They will also work with the Finance Committee to build into the budgeting structure for a capital and maintenance plan consistent with the asset life analysis above.
